- Well, the impact for me is, I feel good when someone gets a position to train, when people are happy and they get a chance to improve their lives.
(bright music) - The Senior Community Service Employment Program is a program that helps seniors over the age of 55 get employment skills training, and how we do that is we partner them with a host agency that's a non-for-profit or municipality, so that they can get on-the-job training.
- Before COVID, I was a mentor for the VA, 'cause I like helping people, and that all stopped, so I really had nothing to do.
Right now, with Amy, what I do is I find applicants.
If they qualify, then we find a training position for them.

We have nine different training tracks, from customer service, office admin, food service.
Not only do the businesses get support and help, the seniors get support and help.
- [Steven] When I'm out of the program, hopefully I'll continue to work part-time, but whatever I do is gonna have something to do with helping people.
- [Announcer] With support from WDI, strengthening New York's workforce.
