AT THE SAME TIME, WE SAW PEOPLE COME TOGETHER, STEPPING UP TO HELP THEIR NEIGHBORS IN WAYS THAT INSPIRED THE WORLD.
WE SAW POLITICAL CAREERS RISE AND COME CRASHING BACK TO EARTH.
WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH A CRUCIBLE IN 2026, MINNESOTA.
IT’S A YEAR I KNOW NONE OF US WILL FORGET, EVEN IF SOMETIMES WE WISH WE COULD.
BUT WE MADE IT.
SO I WANT TO SAY CHEERS TO YOU, MINNESOTA, AND HERE’S HOPING FOR A HAPPIER AND EASIER 2027.

>> YEAH, WE’RE NOT EVEN A THIRD OF THE WAY THROUGH 2026 YET.
>> NO, NO, THAT CAN'T BE RIGHT, THERE'S BEEN SO MUCH THAT HAPPENED.
THERE WAS A FEDERAL IMMIGRATION CRACKDOWN, THERE WERE HISTORIC PROTESTS THAT ROSE UP IN RESPONSE.
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN WROTE A SONG ABOUT MINNEAPOLIS!

THAT WAS JANUARY.
AND FEBRUARY.
>> BUT IT FELT LIKE YEARS!

AND GOVERNOR WALZ RAN FOR AN UNPRECEDENTED THIRD TERM BUT DROPPED OUT LEAVING THE RACE FOR GOVERNOR OPEN.
>> YEAH, THAT WAS ON JANUARY 5TH.
THE ACTUAL CAMPAIGN TO REPLACE HIM HASN'T REALLY STARTED.
PRIMARIES AREN'T FOR MONTHS.
>> NO, NO, NO, THE PRESIDENT CALLED OUT MINNESOTA BY NAME IN THE STATE OF THE UNION FOR FRAUD AND THEN HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO SEND THE VICE PRESIDENT TO DEAL WITH IT.
>> YEAH, ON FEBRUARY 24TH.
>> AND THEN WE WENT TO WAR IN IRAN!
>> STILL HAPPENING.
>> BUT, BUT, BUT.
BUT THE LEGISLATIVE SESSION, THAT'S GOTTA BE OVER, RIGHT?
>> NOT 'TIL MAY.
THEY HAVEN'T EVEN REALLY STARTED PASSING BILLS.
>> I THOUGHT THEY WERE JUST INEFFECTIVE THIS YEAR?
>> TANE, WE HAVE NINE MORE MONTHS OF 2026.
>> OH, MY GOD.
