Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship(upbeat music) - Hi, I'm Joe Wos of cartoon Academy, and this is a cartoon quick draw lesson on color.
Most of my drawings are done in black and white, but color can really help bring a character to life, because color can convey emotion.
Perhaps you've heard the phrase green with envy, or I feel blue when I'm sad.
Well, color helps show how you feel.
A character who's angry might be red.
(character yells) When a character is happy, it's a bright color.
Think of a bright, sunny day and how it makes you feel.
(characters cheer) When a character is sad, it might feel a little blue.
(character crying) (upbeat music continues) Color is just one more way a cartoonist can provide information about the character and how they feel.
You've learned a little bit more about cartooning with color.
Thanks for tuning in, and be sure to check out Cartoon Academy to learn a whole lot more.
