Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship(joyful music) - Hi, this is Joe Wos with a "Cartoon Academy Quick Draw."
Learning to draw is as easy as A, B, C. We're gonna learn how to use some letters to draw a cartoon but with me today, I have some special helpers drawing along with us, Ian and Lida.
We're gonna begin our drawing by putting some letters at the top of our page: A, J, E, U, I, O, V, M, G, period and dash.
We're gonna use these letters to spell the word rabbit.
There's a story that goes with it.
Once upon a tune, there was an animal.
Animal begins with letter A.
This particular animal loved to jump.
Jump begins with J.
So put a J under the A to make an umbrella.
Because it liked to jump in the rain.
It liked jump forwards, and it liked to jump backwards.
So put the letter J backwards.
It liked to jump everywhere.
Everywhere begins with letter E. Letter E, right there.
It'd like jump every day, which also begins with E. See, put E right there.
It'd like to jump under.
Under begins with U.
Put a U under the J's.
It liked to jump in.
The N begins with I, put a I in the U.
It could even do the a hundred yard dash.
Now if something likes to jump under, it might like to jump over.
Over begins with O.
So put a O over and to the left of the A.
If something likes to jump in, it might like to jump out.
Out begins with O.
Put a O out here.
And it would never, ever stop, period.
A period here and a period here.
Now this particular rabbit had a very, letter V. Very, letter V again.
Very, very messy hair.
In fact, he was a messy hare.
Mess begins with M. So we take letter M over and over until it turns into a messy scribble.
Now it wouldn't be a stretch to say that this rabbit was great.
Great begins with G, and I said, stretch.
So we're gonna take letter G and stretch it.
And everyone loved this rabbit.
Everyone begins with E. Now, the reason everyone loved this rabbit was because this rabbit is so good, letter G, backwards, to everyone, letter E backwards.
This rabbit had a very fuzzy face.
It looked like this.
(joyful music) And very, letter V. Very, long whiskers and O, what a good, letter G. And great, letter G backwards, rabbit he was.
Sign your name, take pride in your work and show your work.
- [Children] Wow.
- Good job.
Good job at home, too.
Thanks for tuning in.
This has been a "Cartoon Academy Quick Draw."
