A critical shortage of ICU beds downstate as low vaccination rates spur COVID-19's spread.
For much of the past month, southern Illinois has faced a critical shortage of available ICU beds. For much of last week, there were literally no ICU beds available in the southernmost portion of the state. Today there are just two.
