It’s an erasure culture that folks in the LGBTQ community say they’re facing, whether in targeted attacks like this weekend in Colorado Springs or attempts to ban LGBTQ books. Two New Jersey authors have had their books banned by schools. George Johnson says it was hard to share their personal stories, but felt it was critical to help others understand.
