But this isn't a cult.
We're a family.
Cult.
You know, that word carries with it a lot of baggage, a lot of judgment.
We're just a people trying to find a simpler way.
A truer way.
Is that so scary?
But this simpler way?
It requires a total surrender of self.
I mean, your followers are expected to give up everything.
They give up their burden.
You see, before I got here.
Well, I was Sam Swope, assistant manager at a grocery store.
My life was inundated with a series of meaningless tasks, punctuated by the dread of Monday morning.
But here, my life has purpose.
It has meaning.
And for the followers who left, do you think they were able to find meaning here?
They talk about the kind of manipulation that happens here.
The isolation.
Well go on, take a lap around the facility and ask whoever you want if they're happy.
- So happy.
I'm sure you'll find the answer you're looking for.
I was actually hoping to speak to the man who started it all.
Josiah Crane.
You know where I can find him?
Yes, Josiah.
Well, after the unfortunate events a few years ago, he needed to step away.
Now we still honor him as our founder.
But the family has evolved past him.
I currently don't know where he is.
But, Mr.
Swope, he was just... - On that note, I do need to leave.
I have a beautiful wedding to officiate.
Paul, come.
Well.
What do you think?
Let's get the hell out of here.
This place gives me the creeps.
Its him.
I cant hear a damn thing they are saying.
Hold on, I got a better idea.
Make sure.
Hey, whats wrong?
What is it?
Whats wrong?
Julian.
There you are.
I'm so glad you could make it for the wedding.
You'll make a beautiful bride.
Dearly beloved, we gather this night to bear witness to a sacred union.
Not of flesh and flesh, but a vessel and payments.
I'm not marrying [___].
The bride shall not speak unless spoken to.
Josiah Crane, patriarch and first of our kind.
Do you take this vessel to house our eternal guest?
Bring forth the ring bearer.
Julian.
Julian you have to... Repeat after me.
With this vessel, our future we relay.
Through this blood, our spirits will obey.
And now that we have him.
Don't let it slip away.
