A lot of people think that's a made up name.
That is my real name, Melody Joy.
I think around 2014 or 2015, I kind of killed off Melody Joy.
One night, I was thinking of some names, and I was watching Star Trek, and I came up with Lexa Terrestrial and it just made sense and it feels like it's me, even more so.
♪ I'm going through it, oh ♪ I have this neurological breathing condition.
It's called ENS and it's horrible.
It's pretty much, imagine you take a breath in, but it feel like you didn't breath and you're suffocating all the time.
So it makes everyday life very difficult.
I've had to get a ton of experimental treatments, expensive, painful treatments.
It almost took my life.
I didn't think I was gonna be able to perform again, let alone live a normal life, so that's kind of why I started wearing masks.
I had to design these little devices to wear to help me perform and to breath and it really helped, it saved me, but it definitely almost took me and it's something I should talk about more and I think warn people about.
