You hear about the different business deals that are talked about on a golf course.
You hear about the deals that are actually being made on the golf course.
But one of the things that you don't see is women having those conversations.
I wanted to know, like what is happening out there?
What am I missing?
What am I not being exposed to?
Hit Like A Girl is an organization that primarily focuses on introducing women to the sport of golf.
We primarily focus on women of color.
That is something that if you go off to a golf course, you will rarely see people of color on the golf course.
And if you do, more likely they're men.
So we really want to be able to expose more women to the sport of golf.
All right.
I think now I'm interested in learning how to golf.
So for your grip, because that is the first part, your pointer on your left, are you right handed?
Right-handed.
Okay.
So your point on your left and your pinky on your right.
So those think I'm like, all right.
So your hands are like this like this.
And they're going to come together okay.
And that's the interlock.
All right.
So now when you grab the club so you want to leave about this much at the top.
So it allows for a little bit of comfort wiggle room.
Okay.
So your first hand is your left hand.
You'll put your club where your fingers fold.
Your club will lean there.
And then you'll take your right hand.
And with that pinky and the index right in between.
Yep.
So your left thumb is going to go right down the middle of your club.
Right.
You're going to wrap your right fingers around.
And then your right thumb will go right down the middle.
So for your stance the easiest way to do it I told people to put their hands out.
So slightly bend your knees a little bit and then just hinge at your waist down.
So that tells you exactly where your ball needs to be.
So the next part is the actual swing.
So this is where it gets a little challenging too.
And it takes a long time for people to get their swing together.
Because this arm.
this is the arm.
you keep it straight as possible.
Your left arm.
Yes.
Your left arm is straight.
So before you go up, that's actually a really good swing.
Okay.
So when you bring it up, it's almost like you're holding a tray.
And I tell people to focus on keeping your elbow towards your inner body and not out like a chicken wing.
Okay.
So you want to keep it inwards.
Yeah.
Like this.
That hurts.
Its uncomfortable.
It is.
So we definitely stretch before every lesson.
Because your lower back when you first start.
It's a lot of core.
Yes.
You're literally twisting out your core.
So we do stretch.
It's like super strength.
It is super.
It takes some time to.
Yeah.
This shows I really need to stretch.
Okay.
Like that.
Yep.
Okay.
Yep.
I really need to stretch.
You do, stretching.
Like fighting for my life.
Yeah.
So, yeah, a lot of people.
But what?
But it's a really good stretch too.
Because when you're doing that, not only is it helping, what is your swing, but it's also a really good stretch Its a lot to think about, so many different parts.
The hands, the stance, the distance away from the Straight arm, Yeah.
You're not.
Sure.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Like, it's like a practice swing.
Okay.
Oh, I did it.
You hit it.
No.
That's okay.
Perfect.
No, it was perfect.
It went straight down the middle, too.
That was a great shot.
Okay.
High five, thank you.
It was a good shot.
It was perfect.
