I am Deborah French Gorman.
I'm the senior event sales manager here at Phipps Conservatory.
Phipps is the ideal place for Mother's Day, and it has been for years.
If guests come to Phipps on Mother's Day weekend, we will still be in our spring show, which is a great time to catch those last glimpses of spring flowers before we transition into our summer show.
So you really get a little sneak peek of summer, which will be Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, but you still get the classic spring flowers that we have in our spring show.
I just think it's the most calm, serene place you can go because of all of the trees and plants and flowers.
It immediately puts you at ease when you come in, because you are completely immersed in nature and in the beauty that Mother Nature has to offer.
We really pride ourselves here at Phipps, it being a total experience for our guests.
So there's always something exciting and maybe a little unexpected happening when you come to visit.
We have programing for children, we have storytime for little kids, we have Discovery Garden for the little ones, and then we have great events for adults.
We have an entire adult education program.
We do all kinds of symposiums about how to plant plants, what native plants you should be putting in your garden, all kinds of things like that.
We also have a cooking kitchen, so we do cooking classes.
There's a whole menu of classes, everything from fermentation to sushi to Indian cuisine.
They have a full lineup of adult classes that utilize our cooking kitchen.
A great tradition here at Phipps is to come to May market for Mother's Day weekend.
This is our 90th year doing May market and it really is an opportunity to shop local.
That's local nurseries, local farms, local artists, botanical art.
And you might pick up a gift for mom while you're here.
Also, you can come into the conservatory.
You can visit our gift shop.
They always do a lovely sidewalk sale for that weekend and the cafe just reopened so you can get a little nibble.
But it really is a great weekend and that's open 9 to 5 on Saturday and 9 to 7 on Friday, so we'd love to see everybody here.
So there's really something for everybody on that weekend.
And it's a beautiful tradition for Mother's Day.
