We welcome you to be entertained Brand new place with a different soul.
Brand new feeling I don't know.
It's what I get on the road.
It's not your fault.
You don't know why I can't seem to let it go.
But I love you still.
You still love me so, you made a world here.
You made a life here.
I just have you in this burning desire.
There's no other way how to tell you my fire.
There's no other way how to tell you except that I, I, I, I, feel so alive.
When I'm on the road.
When I'm alone with you.
But when I'm on the road.
My whole life seems so true.
Yeah.
When I'm on the road.
I like to tell stories of places I've been to.
I like to think back on things I've been through.
But I. I love to gather the pieces and think of those stories like running through valleys and screaming from mountains, rushing water, the fire down under.
Well, I. I love it all.
I just know that I. I feel so alive.
Oh, I. When I'm on the road or whenever Im alone with you.
When I'm on the road yeah, my whole life it seems so true When I'm on the road.
I will have to leave my home because I can't do this anymore.
I will have to choose the road.
Well Im sorry, I'm not what you're looking for.
So I guess that I will live alone, I just could not do that anymore So I spend it on the road.
I will always think of you When Im on the road, yeah.
I know just what to do yeah, when Im on the road, yeah.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Well, it's hard to think so.
Whenever I started even doing music, it was more so.
How can I hold on to a group of peoples attention and get their validation?
What can I do?
And that.
And that was like being funny sometimes.
That was, you know, I realized, Oh, if I can play songs that people already know and they already love and I could just do it, nobody else can do it around me.
Look, I've, I've, I did the thing I want to do.
So I was just, I guess, looking at artists that I kind of wanted to be like that I wanted to, you know, emulate and create my own persona off of.
But I really I honestly think the first bands were like these eighties, like metal bands like Gene Simmons and what Black Sabbath I loved, and just Van Halen and Guns N Roses.
I loved all that stuff.
All the while, you know, classic Christmas carols.
I think everybody loves Christmas carols.
You know them from childhood.
And then they come around every year and they still hits just like they always have.
So I think I just fell in love with music and how songs can have this mass appeal.
So it wasn't one particular artist as much as it was like, What are the best songs?
What are all the best songs?
You know?
So I really like like songs more than artists.
It's kind of more of a fun, upbeat.
A river or road.
It doesn't matter where you go as long as you know it by name.
Feels so small, you done nothing at all.
The problem lies with keeping it the same.
You'll never know until you try.
So open your heart and step into the other side.
See what you can see today.
Hey, opportunities coming your way.
Please don't ever let the moment pass you by to see what He gave you on the other side.
Oh yeah oh, you'll never know till you try.
So open your heart and step in to the other side.
See what you can see today.
Cause opportunities come your way.
Please don't ever let that moment pass you by to see just whats on the other side.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
You'll never know Unless you can give it a try.
So open your heart Step in to the other side.
Oh, you'll never know unless you try.
So just open your heart and step to the other side.
Oh.
Well Im broken down.
I dont think Im gonna work again.
Can you fix me?
Because I need a friend.
You should know all the pictures from the wall.
One by one they jump like sickness when they fall.
Is it worth it?
I just got to know is your grass is green?
Mine looks just like indigo.
And the sky is diamonds.
But the sun still looks like yellow.
Sun still looks like yellow.
And I want to be someone Please want to be.
I know that it snows but the sun it still looks like yellow.
Light the candle burned down another flame.
I took a walk down the block just to turn right back again.
And had a rainy day while I was working at the lemonade stand.
Drawing blurry shapes, a simple fork, a shakin hand.
I need a pillow to lay my heavy heart I need a window to receive a message from the star.
Hey!
I. I want to be someone.
Please.
One, two, three.
I know, I know, I know it's snow, but the sun still looks like yellow.
Hey, like yellow.
Hey, I. I want to be someone.
Please.
One, two, three.
I know that it snows, but the sun still looks like yellow.
I want to be someone.
Please.
One, two, three.
Oh, I know, I know, I know.
It's snows, but the sun still looks like yellow.
I have been writing like songs and trying to be like something 15 plus years.
Right.
But recently, with my songwriting, it really hasn't been anything other than just my guitar and me and I don't.
There's no expectation of anybody else.
I want to be the guy that I just want to have full control.
Yeah, there's not a better way to say that.
A more a less harsh way to say it, but just if I'm going to do this, I want to do it my way or I guess I'll fail, but at least I'll fail doing it the way I want to do it, you know?
So this is this is a really cool opportunity for me today to just come in and do.
All right, This is cool.
All right, well, do something.
I got my guitar, got me a suit, so it feels pretty cool.
All right.
This is a song that I did write exclusively by myself and release by myself.
I have a few songs out.
It's called The Very Best and I think we all have it within us to be a superhero, you know?
And by that I mean able to make, you know, incredible good impacts on yourself and other people.
And sometimes you just don't want to, though.
You want to, you'd rather just hang out and lay down, do nothing, and that's fine.
But this was I wrote this song after a bout of really doing nothing at all and not and seeing my potential potentially leaving.
Cause the world will leave you behind, I find.
So anyway, this is called The Very Best.
Please.
I'm never thanking you for this and I think you knew that I was just kidding.
Now I lost the strength I had last week and I'm starting on a new book and now I don't want to read, but if I ever did decide to look, I could find out what I'm not.
There's blood on my notebook and bruises from nights I forgot.
And I would say I haven't left my bed if I ever made it there, well, I could be the very best, but I think I'm just too scared.
Well, now there's this private parade.
Packed tightly in my room.
Man I hope that I can make some sense.
Of any of this.
These little feathers sweep across and they wake me from a dream I'm sleeping just enough to be walking.
Somewhere in between it, if I ever decide to look, I could find out what I'm not.
There's blood on my notebooks and bruises from nights I forgot.
And I would say I haven't left my bed.
If I ever made it there, I could be the very best.
But I think I'm just too scared.
One day at a time.
It's seven in my mind.
I'll be counting for the rest of my life.
Days without music in my heart I'll pray to anyone who hears it, well, please, let it restart.
Oh, please please.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
If I ever decided to look, you know, I could find out what I'm not.
Theres blood on my notebook and bruises from nights I forgot.
And you know, I can say I haven't left my bed, but I never have made it there and, I could be the very best, but I think I'm just too scared.
I could be the very best.
But maybe I'm just scared.
You know I think I'm just scared.
Thank you.
Hey, babe.
What you feeling like?
Are you gonna come down with me tonight?
Hey, babe, I just got to know, is it me you breathe to stay alive?
Too long I've been locked in here.
But I know that I can live without these chains.
And I could make it make it up if I couldn't find a reason not to change.
But I know you can make me change.
I don't want to slow you down.
I just want to hitch a ride.
And I'm not too much for the crazy roller coaster.
Hey, babe, I've been feeling low.
And only in your arms Im lifted high.
There's no way that I'm gonna go.
I feel so foolish when I loose it to the night.
Please be all that I needed more.
I understand that it might be too much to ask, but Im bleeding lying on the floor.
And only you can see behind my mask.
Hey, looking right behind my mask.
I don't want to slow you down I just want to hitch a ride.
And Im not too much for the crazy roller coaster rides.
I really haven't been myself.
I've been holding on to something else for way too long.
Now was it just this fantasy?
The magic that I use to see or no?
Hey, I dont want to slow you down.
I just wanna hitch a ride and Im not too much for the Crazy roller coaster ride.
Yeah.
I'm not too much for that crazy roller coaster ride.
I'd say so many people that, everybody that I meet has been my guide truly in this walk of life.
You know, like I was just saying, gathering perspective about how to navigate in this big, scary world where there seems to be all of the rules are not even rules that anybody lives by.
Apparently that we find out.
So you just kind of have to like experience and be like, okay, this is how it works kind of thing based on other people that have done something.
And if you trust them enough, you can go, okay, I don't have to go through that because I trust them.
And then I could just, Ill do it that way.
You know?
And, you know, musically speaking, it was just I was in a band in early high school and there was two brothers and a couple other kids, and we got together every Sunday for a couple of years and just jammed and jammed and learned songs and wrote song and played at this local skate park called Scumbags.
It's just like a bunch of kids smoking cigarettes.
There was this this scene, right?
It was a music, it was a community of kids that didnt want to chill at home and I really liked having that, even if I kind of did always feel like an outsider or not, like people like me or not like enough to have me to function after the function.
And, you know, I don't ever I've never taken it personally or whatever, but reflecting back, it's just been me saying yes to jobs and going and trying to be a good sport.
And so I yes, I've had I've had tons of of help and networking and with people that have mentored me, I guess through advice.
But yeah, just mainly just say say yes to everything.
I'll do it.
Anyway, this is called Miss You More.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I keep burning holes in my new sweaters.
I keep taking trips around the sun.
Well, I'm hoping that this year I'll get better.
I just can't hold my breath until it's done.
You see, my mom and dad split up when I was younger, and then the next one died because he gave up.
I try to hide that pain with my laughter.
I always hide the tears from coming.
Hold me down, I'm scared of them.
Show me what all this is for.
Because I know you're always saying how you miss me.
Well, I promise I miss you more.
Yeah, I promise I miss you more.
And I could rub my wounds and rust because I could never make you feel loved.
And I'm shaking.
Not cause Im cold.
I've been crying more than you could know.
Hold me down now, Im scared of living.
Show me what all this is for.
I know you're always saying how you miss me.
Well, I promise I miss you more.
Yes, I promise I miss you more.
Now I just want to know.
I just need to know.
Hold me down.
I'm scared of living.
Show me what this is for.
Because I know you're always saying how you miss me.
Well, I promise I, I miss you more.
Yeah, I promise.
I miss you more.
I packed it up.
Everything I knew about you with me, and I moved you right on to this cross fade.
Without you all the sunny days.
I can count the ways on what you meant to me.
Well, I know it ain't right to hold on so tight to the memories.
Never really was over now.
I tried to toss [__] out of my head the part of me that you, But instead I'll never give up on the lie that we were chasing.
The love that we had ended up in the boxes.
In the basement.
I should hold on now.
Can't you recognize this second time around?
And I've got a lot on my mind.
I'm trying to figure it out.
I've been saving these words for a rainy day.
I must've been over them a few too many times in my brain and I think that's what's keeping me insane.
Oh, it's never really been over now.
I tried to toss it out of my head.
Part of me that you.
But instead I'll never give up on the life that we were chasing with the love that we ended up in boxes.
In the basement.
Yeah.
It's never really been over now.
You've been dancing around in your head, trying to figure it out.
Yeah.
It's never really been over now.
Is it over now?
Is it me somehow?
Is it here right now?
Well, you know, I tried to toss it out of my head.
Yeah, that part of me thats you.
But instead, I'll never give up on our lives that we were chasing.
Yeah.
I tried to toss you out of my head that part of me thats you.
But instead Ill never give up on the life were chasing.
The love that we had ended up in boxes.
In the basement.
Oh in boxes, in the basement.
When I got to the point that things didn't work out, I had to say, All right, well, if it didn't work writing it that way, let me just write exactly how I feel and a lot of things during COVID or bouts of depression or whatever the things are that that everybody goes through.
I love spending time in the car and just listening to music and escaping and being able to know that I'm like none of the bad guys can get me because I'm, I'm on the move, I'm moving, you know?
And however that has, you know, built itself inside of me from a young age that's not neither here nor there, but the fact that I feel most solace and comfort in kind of like the exploration of things and being in my car and seeing things and being out and about that, it made this possible, I guess, reflection, so to speak But then I'm also like not paying attention a lot.
So I get a lot of honks, but I'm not driving too fast.
I'm just taking my time gingerly.
Yeah.
But, Oh Shhh.
If you could imagine, it goes like this.
Hey, hey, hey.
Turn it all the way up.
Put these four windows down.
What I like, what I like is in my cup.
Loving your voice.
How sweet that sound.
And do you know, you do the things that you do.
You got me lifted feeling gifted.
And it's too good to lose.
I'll try my best not to get my heart broken.
Oh, their lift just true spoken.
If I ever make it back to how you feel.
Oh, shhh.
All of it is real.
Mm.
Yes it is, oh.
Its not going to be what you thinking.
But you chose it, babe.
So why don't you, why don't you, why dont you, let them pot sing.
And do you know you do the things that you can do?
Sometimes adjust it, you can trust it babe.
Its too good to loose.
I try my best not to give my heart broken.
Oh, theres lift just truth spoken.
And if I ever make it back to how you feel.
Oh shhh.
All of it is real.
Oh, yeah.
Oh yeah!
I try my best not to get my heart broken.
Oh, theres lift just truth spoken.
Hey, if I ever make it back to how you feel.
Oh, yeah.
Part of it is real.
Yeah, yeah.
I think it's real.
Oh, babe, if I ever get back to how you feel, I want to.
Hey, it back to how you that you feel, how you feel, babe.
You.
I just do I have I have now this firm like passion for the city and and the community and the music scene here because it's the one that I've been in for 15 years and you know, this whole I went out, I traveled the country, I played music in like 140 cities or something like that.
And it was awesome.
I got to sightsee and do all that and realize that every city is the exact same.
There's just like, there's only ten songs, there's only like 14 different types of people.
And you'll realize that when you got like, Oh, I met this guy before I met this girl before or whatever.
Not to say that not everybody's so unique and special, and they are everybody is so unique and special, but it made me just realize, why would I go somewhere else and try to appeal to the masses to be this to be some millionaire?
It doesn't seem like it's a fun job after the the you know, the veil has been pulled.
Being this super celebrity seems like it's pretty troublesome and, you know, even doing this like I'm here by myself today because all of my friends have regular jobs.
They're not putting on a suit to come in to at the Point Park, you know, and that's so cool for me.
But that's just the reality of this kind of work now.
It's like after, you know, when you have no one to be like, look what I got to do today, you know, then the the shine wears off.
But I still love performing and singing.
That is the main thing that keeps me doing this is like I know that it is also this kind of spell you can cast and if you like, say it ever right.
And this is just the terminology I use.
I don't believe in magic necessarily.
You know, like, you know, maybe, maybe I do, but the music can in a song.
And if you do it the right way and you say the right things, you can touch somebody and really just change the next day the next week, the next month.
If you do it right, you got to do right.
And I've seen it happen.
I've seen it happen when I think of other people's songs, not just my songs, but that it it moves people and changes them for for the better.
If even for that moment.
I put all my eggs in this basket.
I told a lot of people I was going to make it, and now I'm not as young as I once was.
You know.
Every year that passes is another year.
I haven't made it, you know, and I'm like, okay, well, I got to make money.
I got to pay my bills.
I've become used to this life of playing guitar and singing and entertaining people.
So it wasn't a matter of like, you know, thinking, Oh, I'm I'm ready for this or whatever is it?
It was born of necessity, you know?
Here goes nothing, huh?
One, two, one, two, three, four.
Where I belong.
I'll try to write it down in a song I know I can make right what I've done wrong.
Well, somewhere far away I've been drawn.
A sweet breeze.
Spending every night in new sheets.
A brand new friend I've yet to meet.
I passed her down along Living Street.
There's a reason I go back to what I know to the very root of my soul.
I love to stick around.
But I know my home is on the road.
My home is on the road.
And I'll still feel you.
I hope we meet again before next year.
Flower child Sweet Daisy, my dear, we're going to laugh until we cry out all our tears.
Baby tears.
There's a reason I go back to what I know.
To the very root of my soul.
Id love to stick around.
But I know my home is on the road.
My home is on the road.
And I saw that picture.
Brothers, sister on my side.
You know how I remember last December in your eyes.
I wish it were true in this motel laundry room.
There's a reason I go back to what I know to the very root of my soul.
And I'd love to stick around, but I, But I know that my home is on the road.
My home is on the road.
Yes, my home is on the road.
Thank you.
I'll start this show over again, on another station.
I join the club, if I get an application.
Because finding good news around here has been getting harder.
And the weather, the future, its bleak.
I wished you fortune.
Because a fortune is all that you need.
And you can fall, but never too far.
You're breaking through the wall to another one's heart.
And you could never want me as much as I've been needing you.
And turn and lock well, each someone is blocking my view.
I want something new.
Can I borrow with you?
Cerulean blue Oh.
Born to corruption.
The dollar could make me much worse.
So I fight and I follow the papers charting my course.
And I thrifted a jacket.
His memories keep me warm, oh.
Would he believed that it got out before the real storm.
You could fall but never too far.
You breaking through the wall, to another one's heart.
You could never want me as much as I needed you.
Turn it and lock, well, each somebody is blocking my view.
I want something new.
Can I borrow a few?
Cerulean blue.
Hey, hey, hey.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Well, you can fall, you can fall but never too far.
Don't you know you're breaking through the, breaking through the wall to another ones heart.
You can never want me, so much as I needed you.
You know I've been turnin, turnin and turnin youre blocking my view.
I want something new.
Can I borrow a few?
I want something new.
Can I borrow a few?
Yeah, cerulean blue.
Cerulean blue.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think it's really neat.
Whenever I'm going through something and I sing a song that I wrote years ago and I go, Oh, that applies right now, you know?
So that's pretty cool.
Or like, Oh, wow, this song makes sense in a different way.
That's pretty cool.
Because when whenever I sing a song now, in order to get the full effect, in order for the spell to truly work, you have to be genuine.
You have to, you know, of positive vibes only like Peter Pan, right?
That's the only way that you can really give a song true justice is if you believe what you're saying.
And actors will take lines and they'll read a line and they can give it different ways and it still delivers it, you'll feel what they mean two different ways depending on where they're coming from.
And I think that way with my songs.
I get to, like today, this is what the song means today, and I'm going to sing it as though that's what this all means.
And that's a fun little game I play with myself, I guess.
It made me write this song called More Stuff, because whether it's good or bad or whatever it is, you're going to get it.
You get more stuff.
It's the last year of a decade.
Some tracks they don't get replayed.
I didn't think it would end this way.
More tears, more lies, more day.
I'm working hard, but that's not enough.
I'm feeling guilty.
I take too much.
When did I stop doing it all for love?
More tears, more lies, more stuff.
More stuff.
And I heard you walk up and leave without a word and without any reason for me.
To walk away from what I love more tears, more lies, and more stuff.
More stuff.
Ive been to overstate it, Ill say less.
Then I complicate things.
I meditate.
I just can't shake it more tears.
Now I'm getting wasted.
Busy faking what it was I hadn't noticed.
I run my trust out, looking good, but I'm feeling rough.
More tears, more lies and all this stuff.
I heard you walk up and leave wiuthout a word, without any reason for me.
So walk away from what I love.
Walk away, Walk away.
Walk away.
Walk away from what I love.
More tears, more lies, more stuff.
More stuff.
More stuff.
More stuff.
It's the last year of a decade.
Some tracks don't get replayed.
Thank you There's blood on my notebook, and bruises from nights I forgot.
