We're so excited to have you here at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art.
My name is Dr.
Erica Nuckles, and I'm the Director of Learning Engagement and Partnerships at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art.
We just did a wonderful preview of - Ken Burns, the American Revolution.
It was impressive.
I mean, just seeing snippets from each of the episodes is so motivating.
- I'm really excited to highlight some of the people and things from our region that are related to the American Revolution.
I was able to give a short talk making connections to that history with some of the wonderful history and historic and cultural institutions here in Westmoreland County, like Fort Ligonier, historic, Hannahs Town, Fort Pitt.
Bushy Run Battlefield, - I think is a wonderful tribute to what's here in Westmoreland County.
So Fort Ligonier was built in 1758.
We tell all stories of American history, American art, American people, and it's really wonderful to see that collaboration between art and history.
- I encourage you to continue exploring and grappling with this incredible history of the founding of the United States as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the country in 2026, and to visit and support the amazing sites and organizations connected to that history in our region.
I think everyone's gonna learn something new in not just our country's history, but the history of the world.
Thank you also to our friends at WQED.
They made this program possible.
